Downtown North Wilkesboro Partnership

Downtown North Wilkesboro Partnership, Incorporated is a non-profit nationally accredited Main Street community and organization dedicated to promoting the historic preservation, protection, culture, and use of North Wilkesboro's traditional downtown district.

It receives funds through grants and donations, and fund raising projects like our Holiday Home Tour. It employs a part-time director and is governed by a board of volunteers. Some of these board members are not residents of North Wilkesboro, but are county residents that understand the importance of an attractive and thriving downtown area to the overall economic health of the county. They know that such a downtown aids in the recruitment of businesses and industries, vacationers, retirees, and others seeking to relocate.

Wilkes Economic Development Corporation (EDC)

The Wilkes EDC is a non-profit Economic Development Corporation charged with recruiting new businesses, retaining and expanding current businesses, and promoting entrepreneurship within Wilkes County. The Wilkes EDC works closely with the Town's of North Wilkesboro, Wilkesboro, and Ronda to bring jobs to Wilkes County.

Wilkes Smart Start

Wilkes Smart Start has a mission to develop services for children before they enter Kindergarten that will prepare them to be healthy and ready to succeed. Smart Start is a partnership of agencies coming together to develop programs, such as offering childcare services at the same facility where parents can get their adult high-school diploma & job training!

YMCA Express 

An adult-only facility, the Wilkes Express YMCA is located at 1918 West Park Drive. The Y includes a comprehensive Wellness Center with on-duty staff, group exercise programs, walking track and SilverSneakers® classes.
