There will be a second community input session for downtown property owners on June 10, 2024, at 5:30 pm to discuss the possibility of implementing a Municipal Service District (MSD) in downtown North Wilkesboro. It will be held in the Commissioner’s Board Room located at 212 9th Street, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
What is a Municipal Service District (MSD)?
A Municipal Service District (MSD) is a specific area within a municipality that can raise additional funds through property taxes that are designated for projects and services that directly benefit the properties within that district.
Purpose
This session's purpose is to gather your feedback on the concept of a downtown MSD. This will be an opportunity to discuss how a potential downtown MSD might function as well as consider potential benefits and drawbacks. This will be an opportunity to discuss how a potential MSD might be structured if implemented. The Board of Commissioners for the Town of North Wilkesboro will be present in their official capacity to hear your thoughts and ideas about a potential downtown MSD.
