[Wilkesboro, NC, April 3, 2020] Beginning today at 3:00 PM, short-term rentals to out-of-town or out-of-state guests will be prohibited in Wilkes County, by order of the Wilkes County Board of Commissioners. This measure is similar to measures implemented Wednesday by the towns of Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro.
These measures are designed to prevent the introduction of Coronavirus to the area from outside the region.
The prohibitions applied to campgrounds, air bed and breakfasts, VRBOs, guest houses, hotels, motels, inns, timeshare units, condos, vacation cabins, home rentals, RV parks, and other similar rentals.
Like the original State of Emergency Declaration, this enhancement will be in effect through April 30, 2020.
