Town Manager
The Town of North Wilkesboro operates under the Manager/Council form of government. The Town Board of Commissioners is the legislative body for the community and makes broad policy decisions. The Administration Department is lead by the Town Manager, who is appointed by the Board of Commissioners. The Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Town government. The Town Manager provides support to the Board of Commissioners as they set policy and direction for the Town.
The Administration Department is responsible for the coordination and oversight of all Town-delivered services.
Town Clerk
The Town Clerk prepares and maintains complete and accurate records of the Board of Commissioners. The clerk assists in the creation of the Board Meeting agendas. They also serve as the official custodian of all permanent records including minutes, resolutions, ordinances, contracts, agreements, deeds and easements, and various other documents. Lastly, the clerk provides staff support to the Town Manager, Mayor, and Board of Commissioners.
Town Attorney
The Town Attorney provides legal advice to the Town Board of Commissioners, Town Manager, and Staff on all legal matters. They attend all Board of Commissioners meetings and provide legal advice on actions taken by the board and proper procedure. The Town Attorney also reviews resolutions, ordinances, and other legal documents adopted by the town including contracts, leases, deeds, and agreements entered into by the Town of North Wilkesboro.
